How to Make Tuck-In Card Tabs and Pockets

We discovered yet another use for unwanted Christmas cards and/or gift cards.

Using the backs of the cards, cut strips with scissors. Click on "read more" to see the rest of this post.

Use crafting glue to attach each end, leaving some room for the "tab" to have space behind it.

Allow it to dry.

Attach a "tuck-in" such as these embellished paperclips.  Tuck in a tiny gift, or clip it to the tab.

Use larger pieces to create a "pocket" for the card for other "tuck-in" gifts.  Decorate with stickers, markers, glitter, scrap fabric, trims, or even tiny buttons.

Cute idea for those of us who still send a real card!

cute idea!
I just sorted our cards from Christmas when putting away our Holiday Journal-- hated tossing out the pretty and usable graphics...
wondered what to do with them- now I know!

Kim and Pat, you could also use cardstock for the tab, but I find the cards much sturdier to attach and hold small items.
